Założony przez Davida Harringtona w 1973 roku, Kronos Quartet znany jest z muzycznych innowacji, wyjątkowej wizji artystycznej i odważnego eksperymentowania. Konsekwentnie łącząc te elementy, kwartet stał się jedną z najbardziej uznanych i wpływowych grup muzycznych naszych czasów, dającą tysiące koncertów na całym świecie oraz współpracującą z najbardziej intrygującymi i doświadczonymi kompozytorami. W Synagodze Tempel usłyszymy kompozycje napisane specjalnie dla Kronos, autorstwa m.in. Michaela Gordona, Yotama Habera czy Steve’a Reicha. Na scenie do kwartetu dołączy David Krakauer, jeden z najważniejszych twórców współczesnej muzyki żydowskiej i ikona FKŻ. Przez ponad dwie dekady działalności, Krakauer na nowo odkrywa muzykę swoich przodków – będąc pod silnym wpływem funku, jazzu i hip-hopu, nadaje jej niepowtarzalny, współczesny charakter. Wspólnie z Kronos zagra The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind autorstwa Osvaldo Golijova.

The Kronos Quartet founded by David Harrington in 1973 is known for musical innovation, singular artistic vision and fearless exploration. By consistently combining these elements, the quartet has become one of the most celebrated and influential groups of our time, performing thousands of concerts worldwide and working with the most intriguing and experienced composers. In the Tempel Synagogue you will hear compositions especially written for Kronos, by Michael Gordon, Yotam Haber and Steve Reich. On stage the quartet will be joined by David Krakauer, one of the most important founders of modern Jewish music and an icon of JCF. For more than two decades Krakauer has been rediscovering the music of his ancestors while himself remaining heavily influenced by funk, jazz and hip-hop which produces a unique, contemporary effect. The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind by Osvaldo Golijov will perform together with Kronos.
