GETTOBLASTER BIO:
Cień tajemnicy wisi nad tym, z pozoru anonimowym duetem, który tak wiele pracy wkłada w swoje produkcje. Nie odcinając się od korzeni, duet ten tworzy muzykę w hiper-seksualnym stylu mocno czerpiącym z tradycji undergroundu z Detroit czy Chicago. Pomimo tego, że prowokują „nadając prosto z getta”, ich produkcje są wieloaspektowe. Nie tylko oddają hołd klasycznym brzmieniom house czy techno, ale też wyznaczają tym kierunkom nową ścieżkę ku innowacji.
Od swojego powstania w 2014 roku, Gettoblaster co roku wypuszczają nowy album, szybko pnąc się w kierunku czołówki undergroundu. Typowe dla nich rytmy, które pojawiły się na debiutanckim LP We Jack, przywróciły na scenę oldschoolowe wibracje muzyki klubowej lat 80-tych i 90-tych, nadając im odrobinę współczesnej finezji.
Rok 2015 pozwolił im rozwinąć ten nurt i w pełni pokazać swoją artystyczną wszechstronność. Drugi LP – Diamonds & Palm Trees zwiastował początek imprez sygnowanych We Jack. Ten album w pełni okazał talent Gettoblaster do żonglowania różnymi odcieniami muzyki house. Bas napędzający rytm i teksty, które powodują rumieńce przysporzyły Diamonds & Palm Trees sporej popularności, także pośród najlepszych w branży – Roger Sanchez tuż po ukazaniu się albumu nazwał Gettoblaster „tymi, którym warto się przyglądać”.
Pomimo zatłoczonego kalendarza, w grudniu 2015 udało im się założyć label We Jack skupiający niewielką grupę silnych muzycznie postaci, jak Bad Boy Bill, DJ Deeon, czy Dj Slugo.
Pod koniec 2016 roku Gettoblaster zafundowali światu porządną edukację z zakresu muzyki house – wypuszczając swój trzeci album Chi Til I Die. Szybkie spojrzenie na listę kawałków wystarczyłoby, żeby każdy twórca house’u zzieleniał z zazdrości. Pojawiają się tam takie żyjące legendy jak m.in. Steve „Silk Hurley, czy Marshall Jefferson. Stworzona z upodobania do chicagowskiego house’u, Chi Til I Die nadaje nowoczesnej delikatności nieoszlifowanym rytmom stworzonym na potrzeby surowych przestrzeni – pozycja obowiązkowa na nocne undergroundowe imprezy.
Gettoblasters są zawsze wierni wielu odcieniom muzyki house, prezentując ciekawe kombinacje surowych rytmów i wariacji na temat kultowych pozycji. Czuwając nad muzyką powstającą w We Jack i bawiąc za deckami, lekką perkusję zawsze ozdabiają tłustym basem.

A shroud of mystery hangs over the seemingly faceless duo which works well for their productions. Drawing on inspiration from their respective backgrounds, the duo creates a hyper-sexualized style of four-on-the-floor that’s heavily influenced by Chicago and Detroit’s underground. And while the two live in the pounding provocation of ghetto house, their multifaceted approach sees them not just paying homage to the classic jacking sounds of house and techno but also forging the future innovations of them.
Starting the group in 2014, Gettoblaster has released an album every year since, quickly pushing their way towards the front of the underground. Their signature grooves on the debut LP We Jack saw them restoring vintage themes of club music in the 80s and 90s and giving them a modern finesse. They were really able to showcase this and the broad range of their artistry in 2015 with their second LP Diamonds & Palm Trees, which signaled the launch of their imprint We Jack. Showing their aptitude for house rhythms, the album brandished Gettoblaster’s knowledge of the definitive house footwork sound that has inspired their crate. With basslines that always drive the rhythm and lyrics that would make any matriarch blush, Diamonds & Palm Trees earned the respect of many industry greats - it’s no wonder Roger Sanchez named Gettoblaster as “ones to watch” shortly after the album was released.
Outside of their infectious catalogue, December 2015 saw the launch of their record label We Jack. Curating a small but powerful catalogue from established players like Bad Boy Bill, DJ Deeon, and DJ Slugo, the imprint holds true to the jackin’ name whether the story is told through the shuffling snares of “Shawty Want That Cake,” the clap-driven “I Need Weed In My Life,” or the distorted mid-range of “Hoes.”
At the tail end of 2016, Gettoblaster gave the world a proper education in house with the release of their third album Chi Til I Die. A quick glance at the track list would be enough to make any house head green with envy as living legends Steve “Silk” Hurley and Marshall Jefferson are just some of the artists featured on the album. Created in the likeness of Chicago house, Chi Til I Die still brings a modern sensibility made unique by warehouse-ready grooves - a must for the late-night hours in the underground.
For Gettoblaster are staying true to their perversions of house music, showcasing their affinity for the rawest four-on-the-floor styles with releases on respected imprints, curating music for We Jack, and laying down crisp percussion and fat basslines behind the decks.
