Szpitalna 1 mocno zaznaczyła swoją obecność na krakowskiej scenie klubowej już pierwszego dnia funkcjonowania i do dnia dzisiejszego nie zwalnia tempa w kreowaniu najlepszych wydarzeń klubowych w Krakowie. Minął już ponad rok od powstania Szpitalnej 1 - przyszedł zatem czas na celebrację tej wyjątkowej okazji.

24 listopada urodzinowy weekend otworzy koncert polskiego zespołu Kroki, który w swojej muzyce sięga po jazz, soul, indie rock, a wszystko okraszone jest eksperymentalną elektroniką i dystynktywnym głosem frontmana Jaq’a Mernera.

W piątkową noc, 25 listopada, wystąpi na Szpitalnej legenda chicago house Robert Owens, znany ze swych energetycznych dj setów przepełnionych jego melodycznym i uwodzicielskim głosem. Robert Owens jest nie tylko producentem, ale przede wszystkim właścicielem charakterystycznego wokalu, który usłyszeć można w setkach utworów. Tym samym zapracował sobie na miano najpiękniejszego głosu muzyki house.

W sobotę 26 listopada do podziemnego labiryntu klubu zawita legenda Detroit techno - SCAN 7. Najbardziej enigmatyczny kolektyw w historii muzyki techno po raz pierwszy w Polsce zagrają live na Szpitalnej 1. Ich produkcje wydawane były przez m.in. wytwórnie Tresor oraz Underground Resistance, założoną przez Jeffa Millsa, Roberta Hooda i żywą legendę Mad Mike Banks'a. UR to najbardziej "prawdziwa", zaangażowana społecznie i politycznie wytwórnia techno na świecie, której założyciele uważają, że muzyka jest najważniejsza. Tak jak my.

Tę szczególną okazję pragniemy podkreślić nie tylko wyjątkowymi wydarzeniami muzycznymi, ale także odświeżeniem wizerunku. Za oprawą wizualną weekendu urodzinowego, tak jak za całą identyfikację graficzną Szpitalnej 1, stoi uznany i bliski nam grafik Artur Oleś. Urodzinowa grafika jest kontynuacją wizji wyrażonej w stworzonym przez niego logotypie naszego klubu opartej na labiryncie szpitalnianych podziemi.

Szpitalna 1 strongly marked its presence on the Krakow club scene on the very first day of its operation and still hasn’t slowed down, creating the best club nights around. It’s been over a year since the establishment of Szpitalna 1 - and therefore it’s time to celebrate this unique occasion.

The birthday weekend will kick off on Thursday, 24th November, with a concert of the Polish band, Kroki. Not easy to categorize, their music falls somewhere between jazz, soul and indie rock, bathed in experimental electronica and the characteristic voice of lead singer, Jaq Merner.

On Friday night, 25th November, we will be honored by the presence of a true legend. Robert Owens, one of the people associated with the golden era of Chicago house in the late 1980s, is well known for his energetic DJ sets, filled with his melodic and seductive voice. Owens is not only a producer but also the owner of the most distinctive voice that can be heard in many, many tracks. That’s how he became the voice of house music.

Saturday, 26th November, will see the underground labirynth of Szpitalna 1 come alive with distinctive sounds straight from the cradle of techno. The legendary and most enigmatic collective in the history of techno music Scan 7 will visit Poland for the first time ever to present their classic live set, channelling the spirit of Detroit. Their productions were released by labels such as Tresor and Underground Resistance. The latter founded by Jeff Mills, Robert Hood and living legend Mad Mike Banks is the most „real”, socially and politically involved techno label in the world. Its founders believe that music is the most important. So do we.

This special occasion we would like to underline not only on the musical level, but also by giving our interiors and visual identification a breath of fresh air. Visual setting for the birthday weekend, as well as all all future graphics, was created by well known and close to our hearts graphic designer Artur Oleś. This is a continuation of the vision expressed in the logotype he created for Szpitalna 1 which is inspired by our underground maze.

There are three long weekends in November this year. Get ready.
